Application

Summary:

The application process is fairly straightforward and takes about an hour to complete.  You will need an updated and detailed copy of your resume to upload to your application.  A copy of college transcripts and relevant licenses should also be available to upload.  Additionally, you will be prompted to write an motivation statement of less than 500 words.  Do yourself a favor and save it as you will not have access to it after submission; I failed to do so and had to start from scratch when completing my aspiration statement after accepting my invitation to serve.  After the application, you will receive a soft skills questionnaire and medical history form to complete.  You will also complete a Assignment Selection Form.  I went with "Any work sector" and "Anywhere I am needed" after several weeks of research and reflection.

Final Thoughts:

Take your time and have all of your materials available in order to complete the application in a timely manner.  I cannot recall the exact prompt for the motivation statement, but if I remember correctly it involves your reason for wanting to serve in the Peace Corps and how you see yourself adjusting to life in service.  Remember to save this as the basis for your later aspiration statement, which is lenghtier.  Before completing the Assignment Selection Form do your research about the countries you are considering that have openings.  You will need to have your top three options ready unless you are going with the "Anywhere I am needed" option.
