Each training group chooses Adinkra Symbols to represent their group, which are then used in the batiking process to create fabric specific to them. My group chose denkyem ("the crocodile") for adaptability and dwennimmen ("ram's horns") for humility and strength. I bought two different color combinations for either a pair of shorts and a dress or dresses; I haven't decided yet. Here's a website to learn more about the batik process, if you are interested (http://www.bsmarkham.com/mission/Africa/Apr%2005/batik.html).
